One Day Tour to Starosel and Hissar

We might start our one-day tour by visiting the enormous temple of the Thracian ruler Sitalkes I (the first king of a combined Thracian empire) which was found in 2000 near Starosel Village (39 km north of Plovdiv). 

After the visit of the archeological complex we will enjoy our lunch and the wonderful Bulgarian wine in the Wine Cellar ,,Starosel”.

Then we will direct towards the balneological and ancient town of Hissar (40km north of Plovdiv).
Hissar is an old settlement which took shape in Roman times. There we will see the Hissar Fortress that has the shape of an irregular tetragon with an area of 300 decares and the Hissar tomb which is a late-Roman (4 th century) family tomb, consisting of an overarched passage. Another interesting sights are: the Banski buildings (baths), the Old-Christian Basilicas (5 th -6 thC.), the church-tomb from the 10 th – 12 thC, the mosque in the western part of the town, the Holy Mother of God temple in Momina Banya neighborhood, the St.Dimitar Temple in the Verigovo residential area, the St. Pantaleimon Temple, the St. Petar and Pavel Church.

One Day Tour to Shipka, Etara and Veliko Tarnovo

We begin our one day tour to the capital of the Bulgarian kingdom during Middle ages – Veliko Tarnovo. On the way to Veliko Tarnovo we will visit the historical monument Shipka – raised in memory of the perished Bulgarian and Russian volunteers at the time of the most crucial battle from the Russian- Turkish War for Liberation. Then we will continue to the ethnographic complex Etara near Gabrovo – reproduction of the authentic Bulgarian village where we could see craft arts from 18 and 19 century. The last stop is Veliko Tarnovo where we will reach the Tzarevetz Fortress – an open-air museum with its royal buildings, churches, fortress walls, towers and patriarchal church.

One Day Tour to Asen’s Fortress and Bachkovo Monastery

- From Plovdiv we will take unforgettable tour to the magnificent Bachkovo Monastery in the heart of Rhodopi Mountains. Feel the spirit of Rhodopi Mountains and enjoy the breathtaking views to the virgin nature. On our road to the monastery we will pass through Asenovgrad and drop in Asen’s Fortress.   
It is a medieval fortress in the Bulgarian Rhodope Mountains, 2-3 km south of the town of Asenovgrad, on a high rocky ridge on the left bank of the Asenitsa River.
The earliest archaeological findings date from the time of the Thracians, the area of the fortress being also inhabited during the Ancient Roman and Early Byzantine period. The fortress gained importance in the Middle Ages, first mentioned in the statute of the Bachkovo Monastery as Petrich in the 11th century.
After our tour in the region of the Asen’s Fortress we will take our way to Bachkovo Monastery  where we will enjoy the traditional Bulgarian cuisine in a restaurant near amazing waterfall. Then we will visit the monastery which is an important monument of Christian architecture and one of the largest and oldest Eastern Orthodox monasteries in Europe. It is directly subordinate to the Holy Synod of Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The monastery is known and appreciated for the unique combination of Byzantine, Georgian and Bulgarian culture, united by the common faith.
Then we will take our way back to Plovdiv.

One Day Tour to Wonderful Bridges and Bachkovo Monastery

We direct our steps towards  the Wonderful Bridges which is still one of the most beautiful destinations in the Rhodopi Mountains. It attracts thousands of visitors each year. The Wonderful Bridges is a rock formation in the Rhodopi Mountains situated about 70km south of Plovdiv.

The "bridges" were formed after collapse of old cave as a result of earthquake. The Wonderful Bridges is included among the 100 National Touristic Places of the Bulgarian Touristic Union, under number 85.

On the road back to Plovdiv we will visit the other National Touristic Place - Backovo Monastery. It is one of the oldest monasteries in Bulgaria.The monastery is known and appreciated for the unique combination of Byzantine, Georgian and Bulgarian culture, united by the common faith. Among the remarkable art works in the monastery is the church icon of the Holy Virgin, brought from Georgia, famous for its “wonder-making” power.

One Day Tour to Trigrad Gordge, Devil’s Throat and Yagodinska Cave

Today’s adventure begins with a visit of Trigrad Gordge which is situated on 1.5km north of the village of Trigrad. The gorge  is a canyon of vertical marble rocks which encloses the course of the Trigradska River that plunges into the Devil's Throat Cave – precipice cave formed as a result of collapse of earth layers. The cave is formed from a river, falling under the earth from 42m height, shaping a large hall called the Roaring Hall.

Our tour will finish with the visit of Yagodinska Cave which is located on 3 km south-east of the village of Yagodina. It represents a three-level labyrinth of total length of 10km and is one of the deepest caves in Bulgaria. A walk along the well-lit tourist trail (1100 m.) will reveal us impressive rock formations of stalactites and stalagmites, as well as other shapes resembling stone curtains and cave pearls.
